GL events Program for the Environment

Taking on the environmental challenge together

Early 2010 GL events developed an ambitious program that aims to reduce the impact of our business activity on the environment. We have taken on board the fundamental arguments of this program and will be working throughout to implement the different elements of the program into our business.

The aim of the program is to:

1. Limit the environmental impact of the events we host, organise and supply

2. Foster responsible construction, renovation and operation of our event venues

3. Make employees aware of the best practices for sustainable development

There is a dedicated team co-ordinating the GL events program for the environment.

All of GL events companies will work together to adopt the program’s values and share and exchange experiences.

Where possible we will ask our clients, suppliers and key stakeholders to participate in the aims of the Program for the Environment.

In addition to the Program for the Environment, as a Royal Warrant holder we are asked to ensure sustainable working practices are adhered to where ever possible.

GL events Owen Brown key objectives are:

1.    To reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. We have already introduced recyclable carpet to our product portfolio and will be working with our clients to ensure this is used wherever possible.

2.    To reduce the amount of Co2 we emit by implementing tighter haulage restrictions and encouraging staff to car share wherever possible.

3.    Reduce the amount of energy we use at our factories by making staff aware of how simple measures can combat water, electricity and gas wastage.

We are working towards BS 8901 certification
