Dubai World Championship 2009

GL events Owen Brown supplied structures to the launch event of the Dubai World Golf Championships. Launched in November 2009, This brand new event on the golfing calendar marked the exciting climax to The Race to Dubai, with only the top 60 players from the season long schedule eligible to qualify and compete at the season finale.

I took place on the Earth course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Owen Brown provided numerous structures around the course. These included a spacious hospitality facility at the 18^th Hole, incorporating a semi-circular ‘Atrium’ structure at each end with 4 intermediate peaked roofs, to form a stunning 6 peak roof structure.

A further structure from the new ‘Absolute’ range, with an Eclipse curved roof, formed a media centre to accommodate the world’s press.

These larger pavilions, together with a number of ‘Ultimate’ pagoda style structures in use at various points around the course, brought the total tentage supplied by Owen Brown for this event to over 5,000sqm.
